Hello and Welcome!

We are the Sesame Street for kids with autism and neurodiversity. Come see our story and help us bring this into the world! We believe in providing an accessible resource to help facilitate learning in the home, while also encouraging children to feel more confident in their social interactions.

Our Mission:

REACH & TEACH

Creatures Corner is dedicated to creating an accessible educational animation series for the neurodiverse and autistic community to help children build the foundational skills to learn how to navigate and socialize in this neurotypical world. Not only are the people diagnosed affected, but also their families and friends. We want to help foster more intentional relationships between neurodivergent people and the ones that care for them.

How many children are affected by neurodivergency?

1 in 5 children have a neurodivergent mind, and 1 in 36 have Autism. They need specialized content in order to learn more effectively and we are here to give it to them.

What is neurodiversity?

People blessed with neurodiversity have unique brains that work differently than what society considers to be clinically “normal” (neurotypical). Socializing, emotional regulation, and enviornmental perception are harder to understand. This may effect the way someone learns and communicates.

What is the exact problem we are solving?

Raising a child with autism is expensive due to the need for specialized care and therapies. Therefore, they need specialized content. We are here to teach and reach- make that specialized content kids with autism need while providing an accessible resource for the family and caregivers.

Our Philosophy

  • Authentic

Showing the reality of autism and neurodivergence; the good, the bad, the ugly, and the magical.

  • Innovative

The first show to ever be dedicated to this audience.

  • Approachable

We don’t take ourselves too serious. Neurodiversity and autism can be intimidating topics.

    We make it easy.

  • Fun

Kids will be kids no matter their circumstances. Kids engage more when they are having fun.

VISION

We are dedicated to creating an educational experience that can be accessible to all. We are creating an animation series that is a valuable resource for children, and families blessed by autism and neurodiversity. By utilizing engaging songs and video content, we aim to empower people on the spectrum to feel more confident in their daily social interactions. This series will lead to continued education online where children , their parents, and teachers can access lesson plans and other resources.

Meet the Team

  • Shannon Steger

    FOUNDER, CEO

As a creative in the production and content creation space Shannon has the exceptional ability to produce creative projects from scratch. Especially those that encourage social change. Back in March of 2008 she produced a successful social campaign to end workplace sexual harassment on International Woman’s Day, showcasing her dedication to making a positive impact in the world

When Shannon heard the inspiring stories from her sister Madeline about the fascinating minds she worked with, she realized the significant lack of resources available and her passion for social change was reignited. Together, Maddie and Shannon decided to take action. This is where the idea for Creatures Corner came alive.

  • Madeline Steger

    FOUNDER, COO

Running several autistic clinics in Nashville, Madeline is the true inspiration for this project. She has dedicated herself to working with kids with special needs, with a particular focus on autism since 2015. Maddie's unique ability to communicate with these children coupled with her patience and vast knowledge in this field are invaluable assets to the new project.

Her passion and expertise have been pivotal in shaping the vision and goals of Creatures Corner.

My name is Gabriel Alfonso Aguilar aka GAAS Rabbit from "GAAS Rabbit Studios". I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator, native to Louisiana and raised in Honduras. While Louisiana is my soul, Honduras is my heart. I studied Digital Media at Tulane University, and finished my Digital Art degree (BFA) at LSU. I love creating simplistic pieces as well as complex ones that take the viewer on an adventure to find hidden meaning.

  • Taylor Young

    ANIMATOR

Taylor Young is an animator based out of Chicago, IL. Lucky enough to have grown up with cable television, Taylor was basically raised by Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, and his love for cartoons and animation only continued to grow since. While he spent his early to mid-twenties working as an engineer, Taylor finally decided to follow his dreams and pursue a career in animation in 2020.  He attended DePaul University, where he would complete his first award-winning short film and graduated in 2023 with a degree in Animation and Character Design. Taylor has always been particularly drawn to shows that featured monsters and crazy critters, so it’s no wonder he found Creatures Corner such an exciting opportunity to work on. He is very excited to share this project with the world and hopes it brings joy, inspiration, and learning to all the families and children that watch it.
